This blend was created in collaboration between Florian East Brewery & Craig’s Coffee. It was used in Florian East’s newest beer, an Imperial Coffee Stout called “Shade & Elevation.” The coffee blend is super smooth, with big bold chocolate flavors, very low acidity, with a very clean and sweet finish. It’s great brewed any way, but I recommend brewing it is espresso, french press, or regular coffee pot.
The Imperial Coffee Stout Shade & Elevation is a very smooth stout, not too boozy, with pleasant flavors of vanilla and chocolate with a very sweet malt flavor and aroma, complimented by subtle notes of coffee. It’s not boozy at all, and has a very light & crispy finish. It tops out at 10% abv, a real heavy hitter! You can find Shade & Elevation at Florian East, located at 9350 Joseph Campau Ave, Hamtramck, MI.
You can also find Shade & Elevation on tap over at 8º Plato, right around the corner from Craig’s Coffee.
